Eurasian Sparrowhawk, Accipiter nisus, is a species of day-flying bird of prey found in woodland and forest and urban ecosystems. It is a widespread breeder across most of Europe. It mainly inhabits forest, although preferring this to be interspersed with open areas (European Red List 2015).
